[ubuntu] Booting into Ubuntu from CD or flash drive at cyber cafe?

I’m headed to Asia and my only internet access will be at various cybercafes. I don’t trust the machines there (or in any public place in any country), particularly the Windows machines, and would like to be able to temporarily boot to Ubuntu on them to gain a little security. The simplest option I can think of is to just take an Ubuntu CD with me and reboot into Ubuntu. Is this the best way to go? Are there other options (flash drive, perhaps) that I should use instead? Is there a way to boot into Ubuntu without having to reboot the machine I’m using? Any advice is appreciated.
